Bernadette. Peters, born Bernadette A. Lazzara, born in Ozone Park Queens New York on 28 February 1948 is a singer/songwriter, as well as a writer of children's books. Bernadette Peters has in the past five decades starred in TV and film productions, and in solo performances. She's won seven Tony Awards nominations, two that she took home, and the other eight Drama Desk Awards. Grammy Awards have been won through four Broadway recording of cast performances that Peters' role was featured on. Peters has also recorded six solo albums and several singles, as well as many cast albums, and frequently performs in her own solo act. Peters continues to work in film and television, which is why she has been nominated three time in the category of Emmy Awards. She has been awarded a Golden Globe Award.
